"And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed."

 

Awakening means a revival of interest or attention; a recognition, realization, or coming into awareness of something; or an arousal from sleep. 

 

Being a Christian doesn't mean a whole lot if our lives look the same as everyone else's.  Jesus told his disciples that people would know them by their love.  The same is true for Christians today.  People will know us by our love.  Salvation is intended to wake us up from our sleep to a full life.  The ministry that is provided at Eastside to youth, strives to enable students and adult volunteers to live lives in which they are fully awake and fully alive.
